Lyall Hatton
Lyall joined the Cheema Aquatic Club in 2001 to participate in the summer program. He enjoyed paddling so much that he soon joined the full year competitive program. At just 19 years of age, Lyall treasures the memory of competing in the 2007 Junior World Championships in the Czech Republic. Lyall and partner Connor Taras competed in the K-2 500m event and won a silver medal.
The pair also raced in the K-2 1000m event and finished 4th.
Lyall’s hometown is Bedford, Nova Scotia where he graduated from Charles P. Allen High School in 2007. He now attends Dalhousie University in Halifax. He is unsure of his long-term career goals but is definite about wanting to one day compete at the Olympic Games.
