Rhys Hill
Rhys took an interest in paddling when he was 10 years old having joined the youth program at the Rideau Canoe Club in Ottawa. In his early 20’s, Rhys has a promising paddling career ahead of him. He has been a member of the Senior National Team for six years.
Rhys got his start internationally at the Junior World Championships in Japan in 2003, finishing 8th in the K-4 1000m event. He attended his first Senior World Championships in 2006 at the age of 20, finishing 17th in the K-1 200m event and 13th in the K-4 500m event. Rhys returned to the World Championships in 2007 competing in the K-2 1000m event with partner Brady Reardon, and qualified for the C-final where the pair finished 26th overall. Rhys had an impressive showing at the 2007 Canadian Championships, winning gold medals in the Junior K-1 1000m, Junior K-2 200m and Senior K-2 500m events.
Rhys graduated from Nepean High School in 2005 and currently studies Commerce at the University of Ottawa. His long term career goal is to become a lawyer.
