Steven Jorens
Steven grew up in Aurora, Ontario but now lives in Candiac, Quebec while he attends Concordia University in Mechanical Engineering. He trains out of the Lac Beauport Canoe Club.
A relative late-comer to paddling starting the sport at the age of 15, Steven has come a long way in a short time. Beijing will be his second Olympic Games. He competed in the K-4 1000m event in Athens, where the team finished a best ever 9th for Canada. At the 2006 World Championships in Hungary, the K-4 crew finished 7th and hope to better that result at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Steven has his private pilot’s license and is working on his commercial pilot’s qualifications. He hopes to be an aircraft accident investigator once he finishes competing.
